We are definitely staying busy in third grade! Last week, our marketplace was a huge success. Students engaged in hands on experiences as they learned about supply and demand and profit directly from their sales. We also enjoyed a fabulous variety show. There's so much talent and creativity within the walls of Douglas!
This week, students will continue learning about water and how it all comes from one well. They will begin seeing the importance of taking care of our world through our infomational text. Along with this, students are practicing their parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective, etc.). A mid unit assessment will be given on Monday to check for their understanding of finding a main idea and supportive details. In math, students will take a test on fractions on Wednesday. They will continue working with fractions but move to using fractions in real world applications. In science, we launch into a new unit on plants. Students will be able to explain the life cycle of a plant and the functions of each plant part by the end of the week. Please remember to send in $18.50 for the field trip if you haven't! The field trip is Tuesday and will be on site here at Douglas! Spring pictures will be taken on Friday! Thank you for your help and support. We're in the final stretch. Yipppeeeee!
