Happy First Week of School, Third Grade Families!
This week, we jump right into math. We'll be reviewing three strategies for addition and subtraction: manipulatives, place value drawings, and expanded form/show all totals. In reading, students will be plunging into our new curriculum on Day 1. Students will be noticing, wondering, and inferring as they explore a variety of resources that will be used during our unit; Overcoming Learning Challenges. This new program for our reading will challenge your students to think and analyze their reading and writing this first week. In science, students will be exploring the human body's skeleton and joints. They will understand the importance of the skeletal system and be able to identify and describe three-four joints in the body. We will be going over rules and procedures so that our class has a firm foundation in how to respect our school and their peers. I keep me bar high for behavior and appreciate your support as we head into this new school year. I look forward to getting to know your children and getting our year off to a great start!
